SOTA Sister Success

Dr. Janell Catlin successfully defended her dissertation and has accepted a postdoctoral position at Teachers College, Columbia University in the Science Education program.

Dr. Dannielle Joy Davis recently presented her scholarship on academic socialization and mentorship in Venice, Italy.

Dr. Felicia M. Moore was accepted to the Editorial Review Board of Journal of Science Teacher Education, term 2006-2011; and she was approved from Columbia University with GSAS Dissertation Sponsor status.

Dr. Giovanna Brasfield received two doctoral degrees simultaneously from University of La Verne, California; Doctor of Education (EdD) and Doctor of Public Administration (DPA).

Devona Foster successfully passed her comprehensive examination, Auburn University, Higher Education program.

Dr. Denise Davis-Maye was granted Tenure and Promotion to Associate Professor, Auburn University, and the first Boot Camp contributed greatly to this accomplishment.

Congratulations on being named an Outstanding Extension Service Award recipient for the College of Management. This award is given in recognition of your dedication and demonstrated achievements in serving the people of North Carolina. Efforts such as yours are central to the accomplishment of North Carolina State University’s land-grant mission.

You were nominated by your colleagues for this honor. One of your colleagues stated, “Dr. Fay Payton has worked extensively and tirelessly on finding ways to support and grow the number of minority students pursuing careers and advanced graduate degrees in information systems.”

On April 23, 2007, all award winners will be honored during the “Celebrating an Engaged University” awards banquet to be held at the McKimmon Center for Extension and Continuing Education, 1101 Gorman Street, Raleigh.
