“We find that there’s a great need to learn more about opportunities and resources that exist. Finding funding is another integral component to the success of scholars in the academy.”

–Tamara Bertrand Jones, Past-President

The Intensive Grantsmanship Workshop includes plenary sessions, group and break-out discussions, and collaborative proposal writing. Focusing on each participant’s research trajectory, the workshops consist of mentor pairing and meeting one-on-one with representatives from various funding sources.  The expected outcomes of this event include knowledge acquisition of public and private funding sources for post-doctoral students, junior/senior faculty and administrators; information on the proposal/grant writing process; details regarding the budget development process; insight on how to transform ideas into practical, fundable research; information on the electronic submission process; and knowledge related to the importance of the program officer’s relationship with the prospective grantee.
